Haliey Welch Opens Up About Alleged $450M Crypto Rug Pull in Emotional Podcast Leak
Haliey Welch, better known as the Hawk Tuah Girl, has broken her silence in an emotional podcast appearance, addressing the controversy surrounding her cryptocurrency, the HAWKtoken.
In a leaked episode of YouTuber FaZe Banks’ podcast, Welch fought back tears as she apologized to fans and explained her side of the story. “I want to start by saying thank you to all my true fans and all the people that actually watch my stuff and keep up with me,” she said. “We’re trying to sort out all the pieces and stuff to, like, get all this figured out and make everything right.”
What Happened with the $HAWK Token?
Fans accused Welch and the creators of orchestrating a “rug pull,” a term used in the crypto world to describe when developers abandon a project and sell off their holdings, leaving investors with worthless coins.
Many claimed they lost their life savings, and the scandal quickly overshadowed Welch’s viral fame. “It just didn’t go the way I planned,” she admitted during the podcast. “I feel really bad for all the people that got affected by it.”
A Promise to Make Things Right
Welch revealed that the $HAWK token was initially pitched to her as a long-term project aimed at changing the perception of cryptocurrency. “The guy that ran the account was like, ‘Oh, we’re gonna change the way everybody thinks of crypto,’” she explained.
In an effort to make amends, Welch announced that all proceeds from the podcast episode would be donated to animals affected by wildfires in her area. “All the money out of this episode is getting donated to all the animals that have been affected by the fires up here,” she said.
FaZe Banks Slams Welch’s Team
Following the leak, FaZe Banks took to Twitter to criticize Welch’s management team, accusing them of incompetence and insider trading. “These incompetent r*****s leaked and/or inside traded the token,” he wrote. “They completely blew it and we called the episode off right then and there.”
Banks also directed a message to Welch herself, urging her to fire her team. “Fire everybody, your team’s fing r**ed,” he said.
The Fallout Continues
The leaked podcast has reignited discussions about the $HAWK token scandal, with fans and critics alike weighing in on social media. While some sympathize with Welch, others remain skeptical about her involvement and the future of the token.
As the controversy unfolds, one thing is clear: the Hawk Tuah Girl’s journey from viral sensation to crypto scandal has been anything but smooth.
